TAPI caller ids are the best choice for you, if you want to have integrated customer phone numbers into our Andromeda POS. This technology is using the so-called VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) and is fully digital, without need for any physical device. It uses a TAPI software, which is installed and setup on your computer. Please check below the requirements you need to complete, before our Helpdesk agents can assist you with connecting it to the POS:
1. Contact your Internet provider and ask them if they support TAPI software. The recommended providers, which do support it are:
a. BT
b. Vodafone
c. Sky
d. TalkTalk
e. Virgin Media
f. Plusnet
g. Zen
Nowadays most of the Internet providers support TAPI, but if your current provider doesn’t, then you will need to change it, if you want to have an integrated Caller ID.
2. You need to think how many lines you have and want to use. If using 1 line, this means that you will only see 1 customer phone number at a time.
3. Ask your Internet provider to install and setup the TAPI software on your computer(s), where you want to use the Caller ID. At this stage, you should let your provider know how many lines you want to use.
4. Once your provider is ready with the TAPI installation and setup, they should provide you with the TAPI extensions. Each extension is equal to one phone line.
5. With this information in hand, you should contact our Helpdesk Team, provide them the extension details and ask them to connect the TAPI Caller ID with Andromeda POS.
