Before using Uber Direct,
You MUST set your packaging sizes for every item on your menu

Uber need to know what they are collecting from you to ensure the driver comes in the correct vehicle and has the correct hot bag. To achieve this you need to set the packaging sizes for every item on your menu.

How do you do this?

From the Andromeda Portal go to Product management.

Then to Packaging Sizes

You need to add an entry for EVERY item on your menu that will be sent by Uber to your customer.

For example:

  1. Large Pizza
  2. Small Pizza
  3. Sides (Assuming they always go into the same size box or bag)
  4. Bottle of drink
  5. Can on drink
  6. Dessert
  7. Ice Cream Tub

etc.

You do not need to set up each individual item, just the individual sizes of each packaging you use.

To add a new item, click on Add at the top of the screen.

Add a name that applies to all items within this type of packaging.

eg:

  1. Large Pizza
  2. Small Sides
  3. Can of Drink
  4. 500ml Bottle of drink

etc.

Add the size in mm of the box/bag/bottle etc and save.

You should end up with a list of all of your boxes, bags, drinks, dip pots and any other type of item you send

Apply the packaging sizes to your menu items

Once you have all the packaging set up, you need to set this against each item on your menu.

This is important as Uber will reject a collection if the order contains an item without the sizes set.

For the majority of your items, you will need to do this one by one. For example, cans of drink.

Go to the product management section and click on the item, in this example Can of Coke

Click the Blue "Packaging" button

From the drop down, select the packaging size that applies. In this example "Can of Drink"

You then need to enter the weight - This needs to be as exact as possible and round the decimal up.

For pizza's obviously a pizza with no toppings weighs less than one with 5-6 so use the worst case weight for all.

Note: If you set this obviously too low, eg say a pizza is 10g when it is actually 600g, the driver will reject the collection!

Finally, if the product needs to be kept upright to avoid being ruined, tick the box.

For example, a pizza needs to be kept flat to avoid all of the toppings sliding off.

For items such as Pizza's, you can not set the packaging size from the item as a Meat Feast pizza for example comes in 2-3 different sizes.

In this case, you need to go into the Options section on the Portal.

Click on the Size or Base size option
(this will vary depending on how your menu is built, but the option you need is the packaging size, not the crust type).

Here you will see a Blue Packaging button again

Click this and select the correct packaging type from the list you have already created.

Add the approximate weight

Tick keep upright

Save

This will then apply to all Small Pizza's on your menu.

Once all of your items have the Packaging Size set, you are ready to use Uber Direct
