The vast majority of customers when landing on your ordering site are looking to place an order for right now (ASAP), but this this can cause problems operationally and so a way to reduce this problem would be to implement Time Slots. 


Time Slots are time intervals configured for each store to bucket orders into manageable sizes to smooth out the peaks and troughs as far as possible for your chefs and drivers.


Note: It doesn't know the volume of orders from other platforms but you will have an understand of trends. However, remember to take into account that orders on our platform are your direct customers which should be your focus to build loyalty.



Instructions to use



Step 1: Setting up Time Slots

  • Time Slots are currently configures by Andromeda Support and are set by location and by order occasion
  • Each occasion can be configured with different slot durations between 5 - 60 mins
  • Each slot can be configured with different number of orders per slot from 1 to unlimited
  • Each occasion can also permit customers to additionally order ASAP as well as select a time slot



INFO: Orders Slot are only allocated once orders are completed to avoid people browsing your site blocking valuable slots leading to reduced sales.

Once the number of orders per slot are completed, then this slot will become unavailable for people starting the order process but not for customers who have already started. These customers can continue their order and so there could be times you may receive more than the set quantity.

Typically, the larger the Slot Duration the higher the chances that more customers could have selected the slot, reducing the benefit of this feature.



Step 2: Review Ordering Page

  • The first available slot will be {Current Time} + {Estimated Delivery / Collection Time (ETD / ECT)} rounded up to first slot duration passed the hour and then every slot duration up to your closing time.



  • If you have ASAP set (would be our advise) then the first available slot will be {Now} + {Estimated Delivery / Collection Time (ETD / ECT)} and then every slot duration passed the hour up to your closing time.




Step 3: Maintain your EDT / ECT

  • As you will see above, the estimated times you set can help to set the right expectations with your customers and you should be ready to changes these throughout the shift in the same way you would tell your walk-in customers before they order if there were going to be longer waits than normal.
