Adding images to your website increases the customer experience and can increase your sales potential by 20%

Unless you provided Andromeda with images when your site was being built, it is likely that you have an image free template like the example below.

However if you wish to change this our helpdesk can swap the template over allowing your website to display images.

Adding product images allows your customers to see how your food looks and gives them confidence in what they are receiving.

Guidelines for taking / selecting your images

To ensure your website looks great, there are a few pointers to take into consideration when taking and selecting your images:

1. The image should be of YOUR product, not a stock image
2. All images should be taken as Landscape
3. The ideal image size to fit perfectly is 6.4 inches wide X 3.6 inches high or 16.26 X 9.14 cm
4. The dish should fit within the photo and not cut part of it off
5. To make your site look professional, try to use the same location for all photos so they look consistent
6. Make sure the light is good and the dish looks appetising
7. High resolution is preferable
8. We recommend you upload a minimum of 80% of your menu images before your template is updated to display them

Remember, the whole point of this is to highlight your food to a potential customer, they may not have ordered from you before, so this is your opportunity to make your food stand out.

How do you upload an image?

Once you have access to the Andromeda Portal, you can upload images and change the names and descriptions of your menu items very easily.

Simply log into the Portal and go to the 'Product Management' section.

From here choose the item you wish to edit.

Click on 'Manage'

From here you can then amend the name & description (click here for the solution) and by clicking 'Add Image' you can upload a picture for this item.

For items such as drinks any image can be used, however for dishes that you are making, we recommend you upload an image of your food rather than a generic one.

Once you click 'Add Image' you will be presented with the file list of your computer, phone or tablet (Portal works on all options), simply navigate to the location where you have the image saved and select it.

Once the image has been applied, use the slider under the image to zoom in and out, then drag the image to position it correctly. 

The rectangle in the middle is what will be displayed on your website, so if we were to save this image as it is, the top and bottom of the bottle would be cut off.

When you are happy with the position, click 'Crop' then 'Save Changes'

Your menu is now updated with the image

Simply repeat this process for all of your menu.
